Employee Experience: We have been in business for 23 years. Most of our employees have more than 20 years of machining experience. They are knowledgeable in a variety of material types, particularly titanium, and a variety of part types.
Machinery: VPI has four Mazak CNC Milling Centers,
configured with up to six pallets and four CNC
Lathes with some milling capability. Robot loading & bar feed is available.
See the Facility List for a complete machine
inventory.
Typical Job: There is no such thing. We run small 1-5 quantity runs and we do one thousand piece runs. We do not have a preference. The important issue is that we can maintain quality over runs of either size. The majority of our business involves machining titanium. Applications include high pressure hydraulics that demand tight tolerances with finishes in the 10-20 rms range; robotics used in hazardous environments and various medical applications.VPI also does a substantial amount of work machining various anti-corrosive metals used in the oil and electronics industries.
Capability: We deal with complex part types on a daily basis. Tight tolerances; critical finishes and demanding flatness requirements, irrespective of the material call out, are commonplace. Contact: locke@visger.com for details.
Software Power: We
are a modern, fully computerized shop, capable of generating programs from
either a print or from customer provided CAD files. Our CAM software integrates
with all of the leading solid modeling CAD packages in IGES, ACIS (solids),
DXF, CADL, VDA, STL & ASCII formats. Your solid models can be brought
in as machinable geometry, ready to be cut.
Our operations software controls log-ons/log-offs; tracks job status; controls material and out-processing and provides the operator with an electronic "file folder" for each job. Within that folder is a full set of job instructions, including the program; estimated run times; tooling videos and SPC prompting, if necessary.
Quality Control: We have a separate, well equipped QC area centered around a PC controlled Mitutoyo CMM and supported by the best in electronic and manual inspection gages. Calibrations are done annually and overseen by a full time QC inspector.
Responsiveness: Our system has the flexibility that allows us to perform as if we were your in-house production facility. We have the people, the skill and the machinery to fit most machining requirements.
Quality: We have the equipment and the manufacturing
system to insure good quality, but mo
re importantly
we have the employees with the experience and the motivation to guarantee
it. Quality is not just a result of good screening. It is the by-product
of creating a good process control and instilling in every employee the
desire to produce a quality product at every point in the process. Contact:
